Sandoval begins duties as Executive Director of FCUW
Ms. Consuelo Sandoval will begin a new chapter in her professional life and that of the Finney County United Way on Friday, June 4, 2010 when she becomes the Executive Director of that organization. She was quoted as saying, “I’m very excited about this opportunity, this is my dream career and I look forward to meeting and exceeding the goals this wonderful community has helped the Finney County United Way attain.”
Ms. Sandoval is expecting to be extremely busy right from the start with a regional United Way meeting in Dodge City to begin her tenure on Friday. In addition, the board will be establishing new goals and objectives at their June meeting, and the start of a new funding campaign will begin September 1st. In the interim, “I’m sure Consuelo will be very busy attending various social service organization meetings and re-connecting with as many providers in the community as possible,” said Board Chairperson, Phil Escareno.
Mr. Escareno also stated on behalf of the board that we are indeed fortunate to find someone to become our Executive Director who has such a well balanced understanding and commitment to this community.
Prior to assuming her duties as Executive Director of FCUW, Ms. Sandoval was most recently the director of Hispanic Banking and Financial Representative for Commerce Bank, and prior to that had worked for United Methodist Mexican-American Ministries as a community developer and director for the Lifetime Smiles Project. She and her husband, Steve Sandoval, live in Garden City and enjoy their two children, Brandon, 14 and Allison 6.
Advancing the Common Good: Creating Opportunities for a Better Life for All
Everyone deserves opportunities to have a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.
That's why United Way's work is focused on the building blocks for a good life:
- Education - Helping Children and Youth Achieve Their Potential
- Income - Promoting Financial Stability and Independence
- Health - Improving People's Health
Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us. We are all connected and interdependent. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, when people are healthy.
United Way's goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of these problems. Living united means being a part of the change. It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future. Give. Advocate. Volunteer. LIVE UNITED.
